I’m a big fan of essential oils for many reasons. They smell great, they’re non-toxic, and they improve many areas of my life. One of the most important areas of my life is SLEEP. We all need sleep, and I especially need sleep. I’m not pleasant if I toss and turn all night, which is why I love using these oils in my bedtime routine.
I diffuse one or blend them together depending on the mood I’m in. Lavender and Cedarwood work great together, and I typically use Valor alone because I love its aroma. I fill my diffuser with the appropriate amount of water and add 6-8 drops of oil total. If I am using more than one oil, I generally will divide the amount of drops equally between the oils.
These oils are great for a number of things, but here are a few ways they help promote a good night’s rest.
Lavender: calms the mind and body
Cedarwood: creates a relaxing atmosphere ideal for sleep
Valor: creates a positive and calming environment
Peace & Calming: this one does what it says – provides feelings of peace and calmness
I also use a homemade pillow and bed spray made from essential oils and two other common household ingredients: distilled water and rubbing alcohol.
